Who Is Aric B?
The Rev. Dr. Aric B. Flemming Jr., professionally known as Aric B., is an R&B singer-songwriter, vocal arranger, producer, and dynamic live performer from Decatur, Georgia. Blending R&B with influences of Soul, Jazz, Gospel, Funk, Hip Hop, and Pop, he has developed a signature sound rooted in rich storytelling, vocal precision, and emotionally compelling performances. A Morehouse and Harvard graduate, acclaimed public speaker, and doctoral degree holder from New York Seminary, Aric brings both artistry and authenticity to every stage.
The grandson of a renowned, Stellar-Award winning pastor, Aric has been singing since the age of five. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning songwriters and producers whose credits include Beyoncé, H.E.R., Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Brandy, Ledisi, Janelle Monáe, Eric Bellinger, Jay-Z, and Teyana Taylor. His recent work includes collaborations with five-time Grammy-winning songwriter and Vocal Producer, Kuk Harrell and Grammy-nominated producer Bryan Alexander Williams.
While attending Morehouse College, Aric performed throughout Atlanta's Gospel and R&B scene, providing background vocals for Gospel artists including Geoffrey Golden, Kirk Franklin, Canton Jones, and Jessica Reedy. Now based in Boston, Aric has become one of New England's premier independent R&B performers. He regularly appears at Grace by Nia, Uptown Social, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard University, Boston Symphony Hall, and Tufts University. He has also performed at Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar in New York and the Historic Blues Alley in Washington, DC. He's has also performed the National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, the Connecticut Sun, and the Boston Half Marathon. He was a featured artist on the “Step To the Mike Show” with Michael Minelli in 2025. His performance of “Memories We'll Never Make” went viral, gaining over 8 Million Views across social platforms.
Aric tours nationally with Billboard chart-topping saxophonist Elan Trotman and has performed this year in Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, Orlando, and Palm Beach. He has shared the stage with major artists like Jon B. and CeCe Peniston.
Most recently, Aric earned one of four statewide superlatives in the NPR/WBUR Local Tiny Desk Contest, receiving "Best Falsetto in Massachusetts" for his live performance of his original song "ALWAYS U." With more than 1.1 million lifetime streams, Aric continues to establish himself as one of the Northeast's most compelling independent R&B artists. His highly anticipated sophomore album, OFF MY CHEST, marks his most personal and ambitious work to date, now streaming on all platforms.
